The Wild Olive at Butts Farm feels like a relaxed countryside café with the added charm of a farm setting just outside Cirencester. Nestled along Cricklade Road, it’s the kind of spot that locals and travelers alike drop into when looking for a straightforward, satisfying breakfast or lunch with a laid-back vibe. With plenty of parking and a sunny outdoor seating area, it works well for those passing through or enjoying a slow weekend morning.

The atmosphere is unpretentious and calm, even as the place builds a gentle buzz throughout the morning. Visitors appreciate the friendly, attentive service and the chance to enjoy a coffee or brunch outside on a sunny day without feeling rushed. Oat lattes and cappuccinos come in generously sized mugs, and the coffee quality consistently stands out—many find it a highlight alongside the food.

The menu leans into comforting, familiar dishes with a Mediterranean twist—Greek gyros wraps, halloumi skewers, and spiced lamb flatbreads all make appearances alongside classic breakfast offerings like the full English and inventive scrambled eggs with cheese and smoked ham. Portions tend to be generous, making it a solid stop for those who want to fuel up well before exploring the nearby Cotswolds or continuing their journey.

This spot is ideal for a slower breakfast or brunch, especially on a weekend morning when the sun is out and the farm surroundings add an extra layer of calm to the experience. While the farm shop element no longer operates on site, there’s still a connection to the rural environment that gives The Wild Olive a distinct local flavour.

Visitors on foot or by car will find it accessible and welcoming—families with children, couples on drives through the countryside, and solo travellers all fit comfortably in the space. If you’re in the mood for a solid brunch in a casual setting with fresh coffee and a countryside feel, this café-restaurant hybrid on Butts Farm road is worth considering.

A nice find. We were out in the area and decided to drop in. The cheesy scrambled egg with smoked ham is amazing; I'd never thought of this. I will definitely return when out in the area.

Arrived just after 10am for breakfast on a sunny Sunday morning after checking out from an Airbnb down the road. We sat outside where only one other table was taken and received attentive service. It started getting busier through the morning but it was so relaxed that it didn't make a difference to the atmosphere. Breakfast was very nice, as was the fresh orange juice. Toilets were in a sort of converted container, but clean and usable. Would definitely recommend!

We had a tasty breakfast. The avocado on sour dough was delicious. The poached eggs were a bit over-cooked but the fried egg with the cooked breakfast was spot-on. This is an easily accessible stop off, with plenty of parking. Was a steady numbers of customers while we where there. The Farm Shop element no longer trades but there is the option to pay to go through the farm itself if thats of interest.

Popped in here for brunch on our way back up North and really enjoyed our meal. My vegetarian breakfast was tasty and a good portion size to fill me up for the drive. My partner enjoyed his shakshuka bit did mention it was a tiny bit bland. The oat latte was genuinely exceptional - one of the best coffees I've had all year! Cute farm setting too and friendly staff.

First time at the wild olive, it was a planned cafe stop whilst out cycling, went for the sausage, egg and bacon in a roll and it was really good, cooked perfectly with really tasty produce, the staff where very friendly and it had a nice vibe, i wouldnt say it was overly busy but the wait for the food was quite long. Which wasn't really a problem for me. The menu had plenty of offerings, with a good selection of cakes and sausage rolls at the counter. Would visit again.

Lovely place with ever so friendly staff. I highly recommend the Scotch Eggs they have. They are outstanding. I visited while completing the Bike & Brew Passport event to help those struggling with mental health issues. The venue supports this event. ????????????????????????
